Complete instruction with demonstrations for creating a mixed media painting on canvas using Powertex, dry pigments, Art Stone texture medium, fabric, acrylics, and alcohol inks.

Mixed Media Art Creation

Class Fee - $125 - Class includes all materials required to complete the project.

Students will create a completed ready to hang 20x24 mixed media painting on canvas. Monday morning starts with complete instruction with demonstrations on canvas using Powertex, dry pigments, Art Stone texture medium, fabric, acrylics, and alcohol inks. Monday afternoon students will design and create the basic background for the art piece. On Tuesday students will use multiple techniques to develop the basic painting to a fine art level of sophistication.

Class includes all materials required to complete the project. However, the student is welcome and encouraged to bring any art materials of their own such as brushes and painting mediums. If the student is proficient in a particular medium, it can be adapted to be used in this method. Any small materials such as glass, wood pieces, or specific items that might be incorporated into the piece may also be considered for use.

Figurative Sculpture Demo

Complete instruction and demonstration of modifying a highly articulated anatomical model to create a one of a kind figurative bronze sculpture using epoxy clays, Paverpol, fabric, stone or wood, and bronze metal finishing.

Wednesday and Thursday - March 3-4, 9 am - 12 pm, 1 pm - 5 pm - 14 hours
Figurative Sculpture Duo

Class fee $125 - Class includes all materials required to complete the project.

Students will create a one of a kind 12" figurative bronze sculpture using epoxy clays, Paverpol, fabric, stone or wood, and bronze metal finishing. Wednesday morning starts with a instructions and demonstrations of all the techniques that will be used. Wednesday afternoon students will design and create the basic sculpture. On Thursday students will use multiple techniques to develop the basic sculpture to a fine art level of sophistication. Students will also use a wire form armature, foil, and epoxy clay to create the basic form of a 6" figure to be completed as time allows or at home.

Conducted in the studio at 413 W. Main St., Denison, TX.

Sitting Figure - Fabric Sculpting using Paverpol medium over a wire armature. The class time will be used for constructing a wire armature, building out with foil, wrapping with cottom fiber to create the basic figure. The figure will then be mounted to a base and clothed with fabric and accessories. The sculpture will be created in a solid color. Dry pigments will be used to add darks, highlights, and variation to the figure. The sculpture will dry to a permanent hard surface sculpture. All techniques involved will be explained and demonstrated as the students complete their own project.

Standing Figure - Fabric Sculpting using Paverpol medium over a wire armature. The class time will be used for constructing a wire armature, building out with foil, wrapping with cottom fiber to create the basic figure. Mixed Media on canvas using Paverpol medium with various fibers and fabrics to create a 3 dimensional painting on canvas. The class time will be used for constructing the mixed media composition in preparation for paint, demonstration of painting techniques. Some painting may be done depending speed of construction and drying of Paverpol. Mixed media supplies and 20" x 24" gallery wrapped canvas provided. Bring acrylics and brushes for painting and any fiber, jewelry, or other materials you would like to incorporate into the art. Contact us for more information.

Intermediate Figure Fabric Sculpting using Paverpol medium over a wire armature. The class time will be used for constructing a wire armature, building out with foil, wrapping with cottom fiber to create the basic figure. The figure will then be mounted to a base and clothed with fabric and accessories. The sculpture will be created using transparent Paverpol and various fabrics to create a natural color figurative sculpture. The sculpture will dry to a permanent hard surface sculpture. All techniques involved will be explained and demonstrated as the students complete their own project.

Advanced Figure Fabric Sculpting using Paverpol medium over a wire armature. The class time will be used for constructing a wire armature, building out with foil, wrapping with cottom fiber to create the basic figure. The figure will then be mounted to a base and clothed with fabric and accessories. Portions of the sculpture will be created with Magic-Sculpt. The sculpture will be finished to simulate cast bronze. The sculpture will dry to a permanent hard surface sculpture. All techniques involved will be explained and demonstrated as the students complete their own project.

Mixed Media Sculpting with Paverpol and Magic-Sculpt. A free form sculpture will be created using wire, wood, foam, and fabric. The sculpture will be a free stading abstract sculpture finished to resemble polished and rusted metal. The sculpture will dry to a permanent hard surface sculpture. All techniques involved will be explained and demonstrated as the students complete their own project.
